Where our apartments are
Most sit in the streets around the Old Town and the fishermen's beach, so bars, restaurants and the sand are all on foot. A few are out towards Oura and Balaia for guests who prefer the east side, and a couple sit in quieter residential corners where parking is easy. Every listing shows the walking distance to the beach where it matters.
What to expect
One and two bedrooms, proper kitchens, air conditioning and linen included. Several buildings have shared pools. Check-in is with a person, not a lockbox code sent from another country — and the same person is who you call if anything needs fixing during your stay.
Eating well near your apartment
Skip the photo-menu places on the main drag. The grilled-fish restaurants behind Praia dos Pescadores are where locals actually eat, and the municipal market (mornings, Tuesday to Saturday) is the move for self-catering: fresh bream, strawberries and bread for a fraction of supermarket prices. Order the catch of the day and a jug of white — that's the Albufeira lunch.
